SQL Developer (Contract)

$50 - $80 per hour

**This is a 6+ month contract role with a hybrid schedule, three days a week in the Plymouth, MN office. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.**

Seeking an experienced SQL Developer to support urgent data‑processing needs tied to a new phone system integration. This role will work closely with the Data Operations Manager and Data Engineering Lead to ensure accurate, compliant data movement while also contributing to ongoing modernization, automation, and AI‑driven initiatives across the organization. 

Responsibilities 

  • Perform SQL transaction processing including INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE operations. 

  • Parse, ingest, and process high‑volume JSON data retrieved from APIs. 

  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and integrity of data synced from the new phone system into the system of record. 

  • Catalog, organize, and manage large data and file sets within SQL Server. 

  • Contribute to ongoing automation projects, including AI‑based solutions to eliminate manual processing. 

  • Collaborate with operations and data teams to address new requests, shifting priorities, and long‑term system improvements. 

  • Work autonomously with minimal ramp-up while adapting quickly to new tools and workflows. 

Qualifications 

  • Strong professional experience as a SQL Developer. 

  • Deep expertise in T‑SQL. 

  • Hands-on experience with SSIS. 

  • Experience ingesting, processing, and transforming JSON data. 

  • Experience calling APIs and loading API-based data into SQL Server. 

  • Ability to rapidly learn new environments, retain complex details, and operate independently. 

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills in fast-paced settings. 

 Preferred Skills

  • SSRS reporting experience. 

  • Familiarity with Microsoft stack technologies, including .NET/C#. 

  • Exposure to modern data tools, automation frameworks, or AI-driven solutions. 

  • Experience supporting financial, billing, or compliance-heavy data environments.
