Senior Project Manager (Contract)
**This is a 6-month contract role with our client in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul (south metro) area. The position follows a hybrid schedule, with 1–2 in-office days per week (Tuesday/Thursday). Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.**
The Senior PM/Scrum Master will lead planning, coordination, and delivery for the Data team, driving clarity, organization, and momentum across multiple initiatives. This role ensures the team is focused on the right work, communicates effectively with leadership, and proactively removes obstacles to keep data projects moving.
Responsibilities
Organize, prioritize, and sequence work for the Data team
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and serve as Scrum Master for the team
Provide clear, consistent communication upward to leadership and across stakeholders
Drive accountability, timelines, and delivery across multiple initiatives
Partner closely with Data Engineering leadership to align business priorities
Identify and remove blockers; create clarity in ambiguous situations
Act as the voice and advocate for the Data team, pushing work forward proactively
Coordinate with cross‑functional partners including Project Operations and engineering teams
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Project Manager and/or Scrum Master
Strong background supporting data teams (Data Engineering, BI, analytics, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to manage complex workstreams and competing priorities
Exceptional communication skills—verbal, written, upward, and downward
Highly organized with strong leadership presence and ability to influence
Comfortable working in hybrid, fast‑moving environments
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience in the mortgage or financial services industry
Prior consulting experience
Familiarity with modern data platforms or data engineering concepts
Experience with Azure, analytics tooling, or cloud-based data environments
