Data Team Manager
**This is a direct hire for our client based out of Bloomington, MN working in a hybrid capacity working onsite Tuesday and Thursdays.
U.S. work authorization is required; no sponsorship is available.**
We are looking for an experienced Data Team Manager to lead and oversee the strategic and operational direction of the data team. This role will serve as both a project manager and a technical leader, ensuring the seamless execution of data-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data strategy, governance, analytics, and project management, working closely with stakeholders to optimize data processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and drive business insights.
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end delivery of data initiatives, from planning and execution to monitoring and launch.
Define project scope, objectives, and priorities aligned with business needs.
Establish and maintain data governance practices to ensure data quality, security, and regulatory compliance.
Optimize data workflows and infrastructure to improve analytics and reporting capabilities.
Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to align data solutions with organizational strategy.
Translate complex data concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Identify and mitigate risks related to data integrity, security, and scalability.
Drive consistency through standardized data definitions, quality metrics, and reporting practices.
Provide leadership and mentorship to the data team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or business intelligence, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or project management role.
Proven experience working with data governance, data architecture, and data engineering principles.
Strong technical knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Azure Data Services, Python, or other relevant data tools.
Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple data projects simultaneously.
Strong Leadership in data strategy, team development, technical acumen, and stakeholder influence.
PMP, Agile, or related project management certification is a plus.
